I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but ILLVIBES has been rocking with Young QuESt for awhile now. We even got a shoutout on his “Broken Headphones” project TWO years back. But that’s honestly besides the point. With his “Fear Not Failure” project coming soon, he released this track in which his flow evolves to yet another level. To display how dope it is, Lupe Fiasco (yes that Lupe Fiasco) retweeted the track and a link to the download. Seeing how much work QuESt has put into his craft over the course of the past few years, this is truly of no surprise. #NEATO.

Dare I say it? Is QuESt becoming a star in his own right? Yes, he has a long way to go, but I can see the confidence in everything he does. His lyrics are clearly there, his fanbase is steadily growing, and the anticipation for his projects starts earlier with each go around. The ease with which he changes up the flow without second guessing his ability to pull it off. All I can say is that How Thoughtful 2 could be the “beginning” of something big. NEATO.
QuESt, the young phenom from Miami drops his own version of Kendrick Lamar’s “HiiiPower” instrumental that was crafted by J. Cole. I was honestly just happy enough that he didn’t follow the masses with a remix to “Marvin’s Room”. QuESt claims that “RhiiimePoWer’ is about taking pride in your lyrical content as an MC. It isn’t necessarily promoting a certain style of rhyming, but more or less promoting actual real content in your lyricism.” Expect to see this on How Thoughtful 2, which is definitely up there on my list in terms of projects anticipated; right alongside Drake and Kid Cudi’s offerings. On the spur of the moment action via his twitter account early this Sunday morning, QuESt decided to drop some now music for all of us to enjoy. He has been riding the wave of success from his long anticipated “The Reason: A Defensive Mechanism” project, however he has definitely been hard at work seeing as this song comes to us as an early release from his “How Thoughtful 2” sequel mixtape. Production comes from his long time affiliate A.I (ICE).
I’ve never been the biggest Mike Dreams fan, but when QuESt is on the track, I definitely have to take notice. A dope Coldplay sampled instrumental plus the smooth relaxed verses from both artists make for easy listening. Stay tuned for more as Mike begins his new weekly “Spring Cleaning” series.
