The Pop x Hip-Hop collaboration phenomena continues to succeed. Lupe links up with his buddy Eric Turner and the UK pop sensation in Tinie Tempah to shoot the “Angels & Stars” music video. The visuals are compromised of mainly grunge style stop-motion CGI. Not groundbreaking, but it is welcome change.
It’s confirmed, Food & Liquor 2 will be dropping soon. Also Pharrell and Lupe will drop an album of their own, not together with Kanye as they were once known as CRS, since Kanye is sticking to producing another Watch The Throne album with Jay-Z in the next two years. Continue Reading →

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but ILLVIBES has been rocking with Young QuESt for awhile now. We even got a shoutout on his “Broken Headphones” project TWO years back. But that’s honestly besides the point. With his “Fear Not Failure” project coming soon, he released this track in which his flow evolves to yet another level. To display how dope it is, Lupe Fiasco (yes that Lupe Fiasco) retweeted the track and a link to the download. Seeing how much work QuESt has put into his craft over the course of the past few years, this is truly of no surprise. #NEATO.

Young Money’s Jay Sean takes a step back from the mainstream pop music scene and takes a stab at a slower paced R&B sound. Lupe Fiasco is brought along which seems misplaced early on, but the lyrical balance is definitely welcome.
As he promised, Trae The Truth has decided to release his star studded single “I’m On”, on this fine July 4th holiday. Expect this to be on his Street Kingz album, which is looking promising thus far. Wiz Khalifa goes in by the way.

The 2011 MTV Movie Award just aired a few hours ago, and one of the standout performances belonged to Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz. They performed their radio hit “Out of My Head” before Lupe performed his track “The Show Goes On”. The crowd was definitely feeling it, and the performance was one of a kind.
