After previewing the track during a live performance, getting the sample cleared, and releasing the track in its entirety, we finally have the visuals to “Work Out” Cole World: The Sideline Story is due out September 27th.
Breaking from precedent set by himself, J. Cole gave us a quick USTREAM session for his weekly series. He gave us a listen of a few tracks that didn’t quite make the album (for various reasons). The series continues next week. Stay tuned.
For the record (per J. Cole himself) these are not EP’s or mixtapes, which we all knew. They are just a small bundle of tracks that were unreleased and are being pushed out to the masses now as a promotional tool for his upcoming album. Man J. Cole is on some other world stuff right now. He plans to release some new material, every Sunday for a while to come. The material will include new songs, videos, and in this case a new EP (mixtape?) mixed with a some new and unreleased jams. Really feeling the artwork by the way. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this might be the first time that J.Cole (aka Cole World) has performed his single “Work Out” since the sample cleared. This performance occurred alongside Rihanna’s “LOUD Tour” stop at the Staples Center.
QuESt, the young phenom from Miami drops his own version of Kendrick Lamar’s “HiiiPower” instrumental that was crafted by J. Cole. I was honestly just happy enough that he didn’t follow the masses with a remix to “Marvin’s Room”. QuESt claims that “RhiiimePoWer’ is about taking pride in your lyrical content as an MC. It isn’t necessarily promoting a certain style of rhyming, but more or less promoting actual real content in your lyricism.” Expect to see this on How Thoughtful 2, which is definitely up there on my list in terms of projects anticipated; right alongside Drake and Kid Cudi’s offerings. Think I’m lying?

There literally has to be nothing on TV for me to watch ESPN’s Baseball Tonight. No wait, take that back, I’m willing to watch paint dry before I watch Baseball Tonight, but ESPN did the right thing to modernize the show a bit by having Roc Nation’s J. Cole remake the theme song.
Goodness, I posted this music video on my facebook page with the following message and had the Internet goin’ nuts à la Paul Wall: “Don’t WOWWWWYYYY! OMG Kendrick [Lamar] is suplexing the game right now and giving it the Macho-Man elbow off the top rope!” (Rest in Peace Macho Man!)
