Avid Courtesy League: Jordan Bordeaux 7
I have been following the work of Avid Courtesy League for a little while now. The young collective group have a challenging goal which is to promote general yet classical style for men. They bring styles that are accepted by the masses while thrusting their own unique visions upon on them to create a more appropriate style for a grown up world. Mixing different fits, layers, color schemes, and accessories, the ACL give off an aura of an experienced and matured fashion sense that can be adopted by anyone with a keen eye and a desire to clean up their image.
There latest endeavor is being named Project BLOOM, which is an emergence from the winter months into a season that is more forgiving of lighter layers and brighter colors. Jumping right in the middle of the project, I decided to take a look at the Jordan Bordeaux 7 shoot. While pursuing studies on the campus of Deleware State, the gang got together to show off their limited edition shoe game. The attention is in the detail as each pair has a different tongue by design, allowing each wearer to show off their individuality in a very subtle way.
The group are men of few words and leave the meaning of their photoshoots up to the viewer. Whether it was intentional or not, I believe the message behind this set was that there is still a way to find a separate identity even amongst uniformity. There is an ongoing debate about the value of Jordan Brand shoes as they rerelease colorways in high numbers to consumers. Some feel that the abundance of the sneakers not only lower their value but also renders them undesirable. I feel that this shoot goes against that fashion ideology and looks at the artistic value of the shoe as an asset possessed by an outfit rather than its monetary worth. As you can see there is a method to their madness, but its up to you to discover what there method really is. Check out the entire photoshoot out on their website Avid Courtesy League.
